Suzanne, tell me if dying is like those       sounds
before opening eyes: the sharp caw,       the
train’s moan, the school bus revving       across
the street.

BIO:

Kimiko Hahn is the author of eight previous books of poetry, including, most recently, Brain Fever (W.W. Norton, 2014). She has won an American Book Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Theodore Roethke Award, and Lila Wallace-Reader's Digest Award. She lives in New York and teaches at Queens College, City University of New York.
