I did it for the plot

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

“Epic” is part of a short series that focuses on the hero’s relative strength in the world and his or her effects on it in each poetic genre. I wanted to think about the heroes as human characters first, before their choices become part of the social and cultural stories we inhabit.

BIO:

Marcela Sulak is the author of Immigrant and Of all the things that don’t exist, I love you best, and a literary translator from Czech and French. She directs the Shaindy Rudoff Graduate Program in Creative Writing at Bar-Ilan University, where she is a senior lecturer in English.
