The wine in the communion cup                        to the drunk
is like the hospital handrail to                      the skater punk.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

Theologically (and I’m going to disagree with my pastor here), I believe that Jesus turned the water into wine, not grape juice. The poem wouldn’t mean as much to me if I believed otherwise.
