Magdalen Powers is the author of two chapbooks of prose poetry—Hand Over Fist and The Heart Is Also a Furnace—and editor of Empathy: Readings for Writers. Her poems, fiction, essays, and journalism have been published widely in small places. She worked as a copy editor for 20 years and taught college writing for 12. She is currently at work on a memoir about hoarding.
