Clouds misremember
sky sometimes. Ice
preserves what it can of ocean.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

This poem came out of glimpses of clouds through clouds, of the ways in which moving water and ice wrest control from each other, and the way my recollections ebb and flow, let loose, and freeze solid.
