Thumbprint of a landstorm,
redbrowns pocketed
in folds of sediment,
rough bedrock tendons:
A canyon bed takes
earth’s loose deposition.

BIO:

Heather Hamilton is a PhD student in the creative writing program at the University of Cincinnati, where she serves as Assistant Editor for The Cincinnati Review. Her poems have appeared in DMQ Review, RHINO, and Subtropics, and have been featured on Verse Daily.
